The AudioQuest Niagara 1200 is the type of product I can get into. It does exactly what it purports to do. It reduces the deleterious effects of untreated power and it does so at a reasonable price. I like what it does for the sound of my system, clearing away electronic schmutz I didn\u2019t know was there to allow more of the original signal to be transmitted cleanly. If you\u2019re contemplating adding or upgrading power delivery equipment, but some of the more extravagantly priced offerings are giving you cold feet, this could be your ticket. The Niagara 1200 is a well-engineered, high performance, and high-value power conditioner that\u2019s worth checking out. You could spend a hell of a lot more money, but you may not want to bother. It\u2019s that good.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been a huge fan of power conditioners since a salesman plugged in an early MIT (I forget the model, but is was 5K in the early \u201890s) and it transformed the system I was auditioning in a Queen St, Toronto store\u2014an area known for crap power. Night and day. Of course, some conditioners I\u2019ve heard, especially those not considering an amplifier\u2019s high current needs, choked the life out of the sound. Happily, the AudioQuest Niagara Series has a wonderful consistency. Source or amplification, your gear is going to be treated with kid gloves.<\/p>\n

If you have the cash, getting the new 3000 or the superb 5000 would elevate your system even further, but if not, the 1200 at $995 is a bargain. It\u2019ll give you a serious taste of how Powell\u2019s wonderful designs improve a system. Very highly recommended.<\/p>\n
