The combo has been nothing short of breathtaking.
When it comes to the 6000A Play, Audiolab has done a great job of blending the 6000A and 6000N Play, coming up with a product that I feel is greater than the sum of its parts.
First of all, it retains the sleek, minimalist lines of the 6000A that I initially fell in love with. The perfectly-sized, smooth-turning operation knobs return, as does the classy oval display.VEČ…
The tonal palette was also refined—I heard a wider contrast of instrumental timbre and increased micro-dynamic resolution. The impression of extended reverberation times, of longer sustains and decays, was also quite apparent. The overall effect was akin to the way your eyes seem to perceive a more vivid array of colors and contrasts on the sunny day following a cleansing rainstorm.

Expansive and Rich Soundscape.
Newly Developed Speaker Units & Acoustic Lens
The 8-cm woofer unit offers significantly better basic characteristics as a result of various improvements made, such as the reduced weight of the voice coil, enhanced airflow and increased rigidity of the diaphragm. The woofer provides superb response and sound clarity to reproduce mid- and high-frequency sound comfortable to the ear. The high-res-ready 2-cm dome tweeter unit features a lighter silk diaphragm to provide beautiful lingering sound. What’s more, the acoustic lens is optimised for the new tweeter shape and enhances the expansiveness of reproduced sound.
If you’re looking to optimise the performance of your hi-fi system, the AudioQuest Rocket 11 speaker cable will lend a helping hand.

As we said in our review of the FLX-SLiP 14/4 a few years ago, the best thing this AudioQuest cable does is get out of the way and simply let you enjoy the music. At £12.50 per metre (before termination), it might sound a bit steep when you add up how many cables and the length you’ll need. But if you’ve put a lot of care into your hi-fi system, it’s well worth investing in good quality speaker cables that will optimise its performance. And the Rocket 11 speaker cable is well worth that investment.

At this point, everyone knows Technics is back. The venerable Japanese turntable manufacturer’s SL-1200G dropped several years ago to near-universal fanfare, and the company has since released several less expensive ’tables. But it’s the non-DJ-styled SL-1500C ($1199) that feels like the most exciting of the lot. Its price is the most accessible, of course, and it retains many of the bones of Technics’ upmarket decks. Despite its simplistic appearance, the 1500C is packed with serious tech, including a new coreless direct-drive motor, which is a huge selling point, along with a built-in phono- stage and a very solid tonearm.

The AudioQuest Niagara 1200 is the type of product I can get into. It does exactly what it purports to do. It reduces the deleterious effects of untreated power and it does so at a reasonable price. I like what it does for the sound of my system, clearing away electronic schmutz I didn’t know was there to allow more of the original signal to be transmitted cleanly. If you’re contemplating adding or upgrading power delivery equipment, but some of the more extravagantly priced offerings are giving you cold feet, this could be your ticket. The Niagara 1200 is a well-engineered, high performance, and high-value power conditioner that’s worth checking out. You could spend a hell of a lot more money, but you may not want to bother. It’s that good.VEČ…
Sonically and functionally, there’s plenty to love about the IDA-8. Essentially, it’s a sleek-looking, small-footprint hybrid Class A/Class D integrated amplifier/DAC—that combines Class A warmth and resolution with Class D speed, power, and efficiency, and delivers both with remarkably low noise, thanks in part to ultra-low-noise JFETs in its input stage. Its DAC supports USB 384kHz/32-bit and DSD256, and is also capable of decoding DoP (DSD over PCM) via coaxial and optical inputs. NuPrime’s SRC (sampling rate conversion) IC chip provides FPGA processing with ultra-low jitter and distortion.
